Hello once again, lovely blog readers and Tumblr friends! I hope you are doing well on this run up to Christmas and the wintery season!

A very quick update before we go head first into all the changes and updates to Yoshi Island cross stitch project:

Completed Project: Hitman Barcode (& Update)

Hi all! It has indeed been a long time since we’ve had any form of blog update on here and for that I can only apologise. I have been working hard in the background, but real life came along and smacked a giant frying pan into my face (not physically, but… metaphorically).

#MyDMCPink & The Handmade Fair!

Hello lovely internet friends! I hope you have been having a fabulous time doing whatever it is that is keeping you busy (and hopefully some of those things are crafty!).

This past weekend I was super lucky to get to go to the Handmade Fair which was at Hampton Court Palace, an event which appears to be created by crafting queen Kirstie Allsopp. This fair was a fantastic opportunity to see the joint fundraising initiative run by DMC Creative and Pink Ribbon Foundation; our pink patch was created in earlier blogs here and we even added more inspiration here.

Work In Progress Update – Sailor Moon Stitch-a-long!

Hi all! This is going to be the quickest of updates simply because; I’ve not had too much time to stitch this week! Also I sometimes I have little dips where I don’t fancy stitching… I fancy doing other hobbies (I’m currently reading this fascinating book called ‘A Vindication of the Rights of Woman’ by Mary Wollstonecraft which is this incredibly interesting opinion piece about female rights written back in the 18th Century. It’s pretty fabulous).

So, I have done a little stitching and I want to provide you all with an update. I’m participating in the 8 Bit Stitch stitch-a-long project, which is all focused on the anime Sailor Moon. I am a huge fan of the anime, I’ve seen all five seasons and three movies in the original Japanese sub version about 8 times over… (not sure why I wasn’t too into the manga, but I was always more anime focused than manga focused so maybe that’s why).

Work In Progress Update: DMC Westie

We’ve had a couple of longer articles recently; I think it’s time to bring back an awesome Works In Progress article – let’s see some awesome mid-stitch project photographs! This time round, I’ve been making some progress on this awesome DMC West Highland White Terrier kit which I originally started as a present for my Mum. It’s actually her birthday this Saturday (which this will now be totally late for) so I’ve moved this surprise project to Christmas. She doesn’t know – so it’s okay!

More #MyDMCPink Inspiration

It’s not been long since #MyDMCPink article went live and it’s had some incredible views – thank you all so much for taking the time to read through it, to the few who downloaded the pattern (on behalf of me and Kari!) and everyone who enjoyed it… you’re the best!

I’ve been seeing some absolutely fantastic designs come out of the woodwork on social media and I cannot wait to see them all together as one gigantic pink ribbon at the Handmade Fair. It will be a truly lovely moment and I’m so pleased to have had the opportunity to be part of it.

#MyPinkDMC & Pink Ribbon Foundation – Get Pink!

Welcome to the pinkest article ever written on XStitchNerdism! Today, we’re going to look into an exciting new fundraising incentive by DMC with Pink Ribbon Foundation – to raise awareness and hopefully raise financial support all in aid of breast cancer.

Pink Ribbon Foundation is a wonderful, UK based grant-making trust focusing on breast cancer. Considerably small in structure, the charity work on raising funds to delegate to other charities for their research projects and support systems. They support the larger charities – such as the more well known Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Cancer Support – as well as much smaller, more unknown charities where a grant from Pink Ribbon could ultimately provide vital funds for their projects. With patrons such as Jerry Hall and Joseph Fiennes and celebrity support from Beverley Knight and Amy Childs, Pink Ribbon are on the rise in the public eye.
